Admission Criteria
In considering a child for admission, Triad Academy requires a comprehensive psycho-educational evaluation, current within two years, detailing the prospective candidate's strengths and weaknesses, and evidence that the academic difficulties are not the result of behavioral or emotional problems. The following criteria will be used in considering a student for admission:
Students must have cognitive abilities in the average-or-above range, as measured by an individual intelligence test,
-or-
potentially average intelligence as indicated by a significant difference between Verbal and Performance based measures,
-or-
a statement by the examiner indicating that the overall scores does not represent the student's true potential, due to overriding factors such as attentional or language processing difficulties.
There must be significant evidence of academic under achievement in one or more academic areas such as reading, written language, math, or basic learning processes such as visual/motor perception or language processing difficulties.
The learning difficulties experienced by the student may not be the result of primary emotional or behavioral problems, environmental, cultural, economic, or other physical or mental handicapping conditions.
The discrepancy between potential and actual achievement may not qualify a student to be certified LD according to public school standards, but must be interfering with academic performance.

Admissions Procedures
The initial introduction includes an inquiry call and request for an admissions packet. Based on the information provided, a school tour and admissions consultation with our Director will be offered.
Submission of a completed application, including a copy of the current psycho-educational evaluation, and a $100.00 application fee, begins the admissions process. To be considered complete, an application must also include:
- A signed Consent Form for Release of Information to Triad Academy
- Completed Behavior Rating Scales from two current teachers.
- A copy of medical reports, if your child has a medical condition which requires medication on an on-going basis that would limit participation in activities
The Admissions Committee reviews the application and supporting materials. If it is determined that the child's learning needs and our program are an appropriate match, the child will be invited to spend a day on campus.
Pending a successful school visit, parents will receive a follow-up phone call advising of a final admissions decision.
If there is not available space in the prospective student's grade, the child will be wait-listed pending an opening at his/her level. If space does not become available, the child will receive priority consideration for the following school year.

Financial Aid
Triad Academy believes that every child deserves the opportunity for a superior education and awards need-based financial aid through budgeted tuition waivers, limited in relation to the amount of assistance requested each year. Eligibility determination is made through an application process which is managed by FACTs Tuition Management Company's Grant and Aid Assessment program. Discount amounts are based on a sliding scale and range from 12% to a maximum of 36%. We expect parents to give their child's education high priority in their financial planning and to consider all family resources before asking Triad Academy for assistance. Each family's total financial situation is considered. Triad academy evaluates the family's available resources, not the circumstances that produce those resources.
When awarding financial aid, first priority is given to continuing support for re-enrolling students who are already receiving financial aid. If the entire budgeted amount is not apportioned by the April 15th deadline, the remainder is held in reserve for disbursement to qualifying families who apply for admission to the school after that date.
New students' requests for financial aid are considered once the admissions process has been completed, and the enrollment contract and deposit have been received. If the financial aid award is not sufficient to enable the family to send their child to Triad Academy, deposits are returned to the family.
Requests for financial aid are considered in the order in which they are received. Thus, the earlier a financial aid request is received by the Committee, the greater the likelihood that there will be funds available.
Continuation of financial aid is contingent upon meeting the commitment to pay the families' share of financial obligations to the school.
On average, 12% of our students receive financial aid support from Triad Academy.
